Hotkeys

Overview

Keyboard shortcuts depend on the page and the control that has focus. The Model shortcuts are listed first, followed by DCF Valuations and Dashboard shortcuts.

  • Page: navigation, saving, and history shortcuts when no field or modal owns focus.
  • Model Navigation: arrows, group shortcuts, and Enter act on the navigation selection.
  • Grid: shortcuts act on the focused row or cell; Basic and Advanced modes have different bindings.
  • Formula editor: keys select references or edit formula text within the open editor.
  • Alias editor: text keys edit the alias; Escape cancels the edit.

  • A — Toggle Advanced Mode

App Tabs & Agent Panel

On modeling app tabs. Agent controls require AI access; Escape closes the panel when no modal is open.

  • ⌥ + ⌘ + [ (Mac) or ⌥ + ⌘ + ] (Mac) — Switch to the previous or next app tab
  • ` — Toggle the Modeloptic Agent panel when not typing
  • Esc — Close the expanded Agent panel

Model Navigation

Model Navigation

While Model Navigation is open and you are not editing a field.

  • Q or Esc — Close Model Navigation
  • I — Open the income statement
  • B — Open the balance sheet
  • C — Open the cash flow statement
  • E — Toggle navigation edit mode
  • ↑ or ↓ or ← or → — Move between items
  • Tab or Shift + Tab — Move between navigation groups
  • Enter — Open the selected item, or expand/collapse a sub-group
  • O — Expand or collapse all sub-groups

Row Editing (Basic Mode)

Grid — Basic Mode

When a grid cell has focus and you are not editing its text.

  • T — Jump to the first projected period
  • E — Expand or collapse the focused year
  • L — Focus the row label
  • Enter — Expand or collapse row detail from the label cell
  • F — Open the table-level projection formula, when used
  • O — Expand/collapse hierarchy rows, or open the table-level historical formula
  • W — Auto-fit selected columns, or the focused column
  • ⌘ + ↑ (Mac) / Ctrl + ↑ (Windows) or ⌘ + ↓ (Mac) / Ctrl + ↓ (Windows) or ⌘ + ← (Mac) / Ctrl + ← (Windows) or ⌘ + → (Mac) / Ctrl + → (Windows) — Jump to the edge of a data region

Row Editing (Advanced Mode)

Grid — Advanced Mode

When a grid cell has focus and you are not editing its text. Row settings apply where that field is editable.

  • Enter or F2 — Begin editing the selected cell
  • T — Jump to the first projected period
  • E — Expand or collapse the focused year
  • L — Edit the row label
  • Y — Edit the row type
  • R — Edit the number format
  • P — Edit the projection option
  • H — Edit the historical option
  • F — Open the projection formula editor
  • O — Open the historical formula editor
  • G — Edit the aggregation option
  • / — Open the row context menu
  • ⌘ + = (Mac) / Ctrl + = (Windows) — Add a row, where the add-row control is available
  • ⌘ + ⇧ + = (Mac) / Ctrl + Shift + = (Windows) — Add ten rows, where the add-ten-rows control is available
  • Space — Select or deselect the focused row
  • W — Auto-fit selected columns, or the focused column

Formula Editing

While the formula editor is open; text keys edit the formula when its input has focus.

  • Tab or Shift + Tab — Move between editor sections

  • Enter — Insert the selected reference, or save when no reference is selected
  • Esc — Close without saving the formula

Outputs Grid — Edit Mode

When an outputs cell has focus in edit mode. Row settings apply where that field is editable.

  • L — Edit the row label
  • Y — Edit the row type
  • R — Edit the number format
  • P — Edit the projection option
  • H — Edit the historical option
  • F — Open the projection formula editor
  • O — Open the historical formula editor
  • G — Edit the aggregation option
